Individual Artist and Group/Organizational Residencies

Individual Artist Residencies

Yoga in Osprey Cabin at Tofte Lake CenterArtist residencies balance group activity, personal work time, facilitated conversation, the exchange of work and performance. Creators working in any area, arts, humanities, sciences, etc. are welcome. Residencies are structured around a project’s specific needs. Days are self-directed, and could include individual/team work, afternoon excursions or on-site activity, dinners and evening gatherings with resident artists.

Tofte Lake Center is family-friendly. Artists in residence are welcome to bring their families when space allows and when agreed upon in advance.

How to Apply

Our application window is now closed for 2018.

Please check back on September 1, 2018 when applications will open for 2019.

Current applicants will be notified by February 1, 2018.  If approved, we will send you a registration form and ask for your down payment. Your residency will not be confirmed without a down payment.

Applications are accepted from artists 18 years or older at the time of application.

If your application is dependent entirely on a grant, please be in touch with us about your application by June 15th. If your proposal has been accepted by TLC, please let us know immediately when your grant is awarded so we can confirm your residency. If your grant application was not funded, please let us know immediately so we can offer your space to other artists.

A down payment to confirm your residency would be required upon your receipt of funding.

Once your application has been accepted, will be in touch with you with further details to complete your registration. Thanks!

If for some reason you cannot honor your obligation to occupy the property you must immediately notify TLC in writing.

TLC will make every possible effort to re-rent the property at full arist rate; if this is prior to June 1 and we cannot do this, there will be no deposit refund. After the full payment of June 1, there will be no refund issued. If TLC is able to re-rent the property at the full rate, you will receive a refund on your deposit minus $125 cancellation fee.
