OUR CABINS

Tofte Lake Center utilizes the facilities at Norm’s Fish Camp, which are designed to fully support artists in creating their work and being in community.  There are four hand-crafted cabins available for our artists-in-residence, each with unique features and styles. Each has a lake view with plenty of windows and a deck to enjoy. The cabins have fully-equipped kitchens, bathrooms with showers and sources of heat for when the temperatures dip unexpectedly. Bedding and linens are also provided.

FROG

Our once-smallest cabin sports a brand new living room addition, cozy chairs, a pop-up writing desk and windows on three sides; a gas “woodstove” for the chilly nights; a remodeled kitchen/eating area and new bathroom make this cabin extra comfortable; there is one bedroom with a double bed and a spacious deck with a lake view.

SPLAKE

A quaint cabin tucked in the woods with a deck overlooking the lake, Splake has one bedroom with a double bed and a loft with two twin beds; one bathroom and a cozy kitchen/living room/eating area with a wall of windows looking out on the lake; there’s a real wood-burning stove that supplies ample heat for the whole building, especially on those crisp Fall days and nights.

RAINBOW

Rainbow cabin has an open kitchen/living room/dining area with a picture-perfect lake view; one bedroom with twin beds; a newly remodeled bathroom; a spacious west-facing deck overlooking the lake; and space heaters for added warmth on chilly nights.

LOON

Loon, our largest cabin, is wheelchair accessible on the first floor, including a ramp to the building, two first-floor bedrooms, and an accessible bathroom (toilet and shower). Upstairs is a loft with a twin bed, sofa, and a tiny private east-facing deck looking out over the treetops; it has a large kitchen/living room/dining area with a wood-burning stove for warmth and electric baseboard heat for added convenience in cool weather; the screened-in porch is an added feature especially when the bugs come around; the large deck with dining table and chairs is a favorite gathering place, all overlooking the lake.

“I get out of my car when I get there and breathe in that air.
I literally feel like the cells of my body are changing.”

— Mary Ellen Childs, composer & artist fellowship retreat leader
